After a lot of playing around with GIMP (a photo editing program) and the new blogger templates I finally found a good fit for this blog! Since having a baby I have learned that the more simple it is the more beautiful a product can be. This must be because I have a lot less time. I have especially noticed this in my own home. The less stuff around, the easier it is to keep clean so I have been working on simplifying my life. I have also decided that the lighter (color wise) an area is in your home, the more cheerful it appears. For a very long time we have had dark brown bedding. It is beautiful bedding, but it does not make me feel cheerful. I have been searching for new bedding for quite some time and I have not been able to find anything that was in my price range that I loved. I kept finding things I loved that were too expensive. Then I decided I would try to make something. However, I quickly realized that I really do not have the time for that big of a project right now, but I want new bedding now. Thus I made a compromise. I found this simple, inexpensive duvet cover (with matching shams) at Walmart of all places.
I asked my sweet husband for it for my birthday and he, being the wonderful husband that he is, willingly obliged. Now that I have the duvet and shams I am going to make a white bed skirt and decorative pillows to complete the set! So that means more sewing projects coming your way! Hooray! Hopefully I will be able to get them done within the next month, but we will see how busy I am. I still have tons of catching up to do on recipes here on the blog, so stay tuned!
